We booked into a duplex room. The room/ rooms are on 2 levels, it was reasonably cool on the lower level but upstairs in a small stuffy area the temperature was suffocating and unpleasant. We tried to lower the air conditioning from 22 to 16 ----- it kept defaulting back to 22. We asked at reception how to turn the air con down but were told it was the policy of Best Western to keep the air con at 22 ------ so, I, as a customer, have no say in the ambience of my room. Not impressed. These rooms are not cheap.
We went to the bar and ordered pre-dinner drinks. There is a large drinks menu --- I ordered a Pina Colada cocktail ------------- after a while and watching five young waitresses and waiters discussing my order I was told that nobody knew how to mix a cocktail as they had not been on a course. The staff are all very young and yes, happy and very polite but with no training.
The food was ok, (the chef completely muddled my meal which was returned twice) ------- just that, ok ----------------- this is NOT a 4 star hotel ----------- it is clean and modern and on the surface smart --------- but beware ------ it is not worth the money spent.
On the plus side the room was quiet even though we were near the lifts, but bed quality was poor.
Another plus was the receptionist spoke very good English and was very helpful.
I would not return or recommend. less
