We went to Nebraska for a wedding and from the outside, we were very pleased. When we got into our room, at first glance we were happy. However, when I went in to take a shower I notices the filth on the ledges, then I noticed the towels, grey, dingy and smelled musty. the washcloths were the same and some so badly worn they had holes in them. I went to Walmart and bought my own towels.
The room reeked or old cigarettes. The air conditioner didn't help because it was in the filter.
The bed was very uncomfortable, obviously a cheap mattress unlike some other BW hotels I have stayed in.
The next day i was stuffy and and coughing. When we got back to the hotel my niece noticed the black mold growing out of the air conditioner. Black mold and general filth. No wonder we all felt like crap.
The manager/owner acted as if it were no big deal. All day yesterday we were all stuffy, scratchy throats, irritated eyes.
The breakfast on both days consisted of powdered eggs, sausage, packaged gravy with the artificial sausage in it, waffles and pancakes. The woman working in the breakfast area was very nice and very helpful but she couldn't fix the black mold or the smelly towels.
There was construction going on and it was like someone was operating a jack hammer in our bathroom.
I brought all of this to the managers attention, even showed him pictures and he was "Oh, OK. I'll have some look into it"
I will not make this mistake again. I could have stayed at the Motel 6 for a lot less and been more comfortable. less
