We recently planned a week long trip to Disney from Kentucky. Considering the 14 hour trip, I decided to split it up into 2 days. McDonough Georgia, just south of Atlanta by about 30 miles, was about 8 hours south of home and allowed us to avoid Atlanta traffic on the second day of the trip. When booking, I requested a room close to the lobby. They don't guarantee requests, but they hit it on the head for us. As I pulled in, someone was just pulling out of the closest parking to the front door. The pool was just off from the lobby, and our room overlooked the lobby from the second floor balcony, In addition, an Applebee's is their next door neighbor. After 8 hours in the car, we checked in easily, found a clean, comfortable room, and were off to dinner without having to get back in the car. After dinner, we played with our 2 kids in the pool for an hour and slept like babies before leaving the next day to finish the last 6 hours of our trip. We loaded up on apples and oranges at the free breakfast, and didn't have to worry about checking out at the front desk. Everything was done for us and the price was hardly over $100 even with tax. It was a very easy on/off from I75 and had plenty of gas stations at the same exit. Needless to say, we were very happy with the stay and will certainly plan to stay there on future trips to Disney. less
