We stayed at this hotel for 1 night post cruise. Having read the reviews we were not expecting the Ritz however we were a little disappointed with the overall upkeep, security and cleanliness of this hotel.
Room review - Our room was not renovated and you could tell. It was very old in appearance and did not feel secure. There was daylight coming in from the door when locked. The area the room looked out on was beautiful however at night there is not much to look at apart from a very noisy road and a large carpark. On returning to our room we saw armed police officers in the car park which coupled with the noise and gap in the door left us feeling very on edge. Cleanliness of the room could be questioned with multiple black hairs found in common areas that could be avoided. Wifi was free and actually very good speed / coverage.
Breakfast - Nothing to shout about and in comparison to other chains that offer this type of breakfast very poor offering
Parking - Considering the area, the parking should be free but a nominal $10 per night is charged on check out.
Staff - Mostly friendly, however not willing to engage in conversation. I would have expected to be asked about my stay on my departure.
Area - If you have a car and you do not want to stay on the main beach area it is very accessible. The area is free from queuing traffic and allows you to explore both lower Hollywood and downtown Miami / Miami Beach within 20 mins. This is the best thing we found about this hotel.
I would not stop in the same style of room again, however if I could guarantee a renovated room and within the main block (not overlooking road) I may consider this hotel again. less
