This is a very difficult hotel to review. I think it is the best hotel in Anaheim and perhaps also the worst. Let's start with why I think it is the worst: The hotel feels like it is even build before Disneyland opened back in 1955. Americans are not used to very old building like we are in, for instance Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where people still live in building from the early 17th century. But this hotel in Anaheim is close to being that old.
The bathroom door hardly fits and barely closes, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The floors are made out of cardboard and you can feel when a nearby guests steps out of his bed. When you close the door, the air pressure almost pushes out the windows. I doubt that this hotel will survive any serious earthquake.
The garbage truck visits the hotel and all surrounding hotels in the very early hours, so you can hear it picking up the garbage from all hotels and the restaurant adjacent to the hotel.
So now the good part: Location, location, location!!!
It is directly opposite the entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure. Just step out of the hotel, cross the street and you are basically there. Even the Disney Hotel is not this close to the entrance. This is a great location to drop off all the nice merchandise you bought at Disneyland before you head back and watch the fireworks. Or just refresh. Or just pick up a charged battery pack for your camera, you forgot that morning.
You can park your car at the hotel for free and you do not need it anymore until you leave. When you stay late at Disneyland, it can become very busy getting back to the parking lot. But before the first people arrive back at that parking lot, you are already back in your hotel.
Besides that, the staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable enough although the airco makes more noise than cold air, so you better turn that thing on while you are away and prepare your room for the night.
So now you understand why this is the worst and the best hotel. If you are a big Disney fan and you spend all your time in the two parks, this hotel is great. If you think about this hotel for just visiting Los Angeles … skip it. less
