• Oh me Oh my: This sophisticated - yet rather secret - afternoon tea spot on the 8th floor of the West African house is something very special. However, it’s the roof garden (named Goodness Gracious) that has got us talking. You can enjoy a tipple whilst looking out at spectacular views of the Royal Liver building, making use of the complimentary sun cream and cushions on a sunny day.  

Culture and nightlife in Liverpool

Liverpool is a hugely important hub for culture in the UK, and was honoured with the title European Capital of Culture in 2008. When it comes to music, the city has produced plenty of rock legends and is the proud home of the UK’s oldest orchestra, the Royal Liver Philharmonic Orchestra. Liverpool represents the visual arts just as strongly, as the city houses more galleries and national museums than any other outside of London.

• Walker Art Gallery: This gallery hosts one of the UK’s largest collections of art, exhibiting paintings, sculptures and decorative arts ranging from 13th century the present day.

Shopping in Liverpool

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shop until you drop, thanks to the abundance of stores that can be found in Liverpool city centre. With a vastly growing offering of high street stores, luxury brands, vintage boutiques, funky record shops and art stores, the only problem you’ll encounter is too much choice.

• Liverpool ONE: Liverpool’s most famous shopping complex sits in the heart of the city, and offers an abundance of high street brands, a 14-screen Odeon cinema, a 36-hole adventure golf course and plenty of restaurants to fill you up.

• The Metquarter: This exclusive shopping centre is also found in the centre of Liverpool, housing many aspirational brands such as Jo Malone, Armani Exchange and Hugo Boss - for those with a taste for the luxurious.

• 69A: This quaint vintage shop can be found in a gorgeous 19th century building, selling an extensive mix of items from all ages. You’ll find books, fashions, home furnishings and even a resident ginger cat that is sure to say hello.
