The unique sanctuary and breeding centre at Jersey Zoo was founded by the famous naturalist Gerald Durrell. Known as the "zoo that's not a zoo", the centre is the headquarters of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a worldwide organisation dedicated to saving animals from extinction. It's also a brilliant place to spend the day in the company of some of the world's most intriguing animals.

German Occupation Museum

The German Occupation Museum is an evocative display chronicling life while Guernsey was in the grip of the German army between 1940 and 1945. Visitors can explore the Military Room, the Prison and the Occupation Kitchen as well as a full-size street scene, all of which bring the hardship of everyday life during this time into sharp focus. Modern technology helps convey the experiences of the islanders during the occupation and a vast number of Second World War relics are on display.

Little Chapel

The smallest chapel in the world and a sight to behold, St Andrews's unique Little Chapel was the life work of Brother Déodat, who attempted to create a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes in France. After the Second World War, Brother Cephas completed the chapel in his place as a labour of love, decorating the interior and exterior with a combination of shells, pebbles, glass and broken china.
