The North-East's biggest producing theatre, Northern Stage is proud of its Northern heritage and focuses on both promoting local talent and establishing national and international partnerships. Cornwall's Kneehigh Theatre and the RSC are regular visitors.
Originally the Newcastle Playhouse, Northern Stage celebrated its 40th birthday in 2010, producing two seasonal shows: Wind in the Willows, adapted by Alan Bennett (to 8 January) and The Little Boy Who Lost the Morning (to 15 January).
Amidst a plethora of visiting shows, including Danish and Phoenix Dance Theatres, Company Theatre Mumbai, Told by an Idiot and Out of Joint/Lyric Hammersmith, Northern Stage's own shows continue with Jeremy Dyson's follow up to his hit Ghost Tales: Roald Dahl's Twisted Tales (16-26 March).
Also already announced is 2011's Christmas Show, The Glass Slipper (28 November-7 January).
