The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals brings together the best male tennis players of the season for a final showdown at London's O2 Arena. The likes of Roger Federer and Andy Murray slug it out for US$5 million in prize money.
The eight players (and pairs) are divided into two groups of four, and play round-robin matches against the others in their group. The top two from each group contest the semi-finals, with the winners meeting in the final to determine the champion.
Aside from the Grand Slams, the ATP Masters Series is the highest-ranking tennis competition in the world. Its tournaments attract the cream of the sport's elite as they vie for the coveted title of world number one. The series includes four tournaments in North America and five in Europe, culminating in this season-ending event which draws the world's top players together for another tense showdown.
