The UK's premier classical picnic proms takes place across the UK: Burghley House (July 7). Blenheim Palace (July 14), Hatfield House (July 21), Althorp Park (August 11) and Ragley Hall (August 18). The Battle Proms Concert and its fireworks display take place on the park directly in front of Highclere Castle, affording wonderful views of this soaring pinnacled mansion and the surrounding countryside of the Berkshire and Hampshire border. ‘Downton Abbey’, the major new drama series from ITV, is filmed on location at Highclere Castle, and the Battle Proms provides a great opportunity to spend the evening at the venue of this highly successful production.
