Madame Tussauds offers a unique opportunity to hang out with the wax counterparts of all the most famous stars of stage, screen and sport. Join politicians, religious leaders and a host of fictional and historical heroes and villains.

The degree of resemblance between wax figure and celebrity ranges from uncanny to, shall we say, a little bit Stars In Their Eyes, but you can be sure that no effort or expense has been spared: each figure costs around £100,000 to create and takes around three months to make. What follows is much more than a bunch of dummies. It's an all-round multimedia experience, as you can swoon over Johnny Depp, ogle Marilyn Monroe and bow at the feet of the Dalai Lama.
