This recreation of Tudor times takes place at Oxburgh, a 15th-century, moated manor house near King's Lynn with attractive gardens and woodland walks. The displays in the house include embroidery created by Mary, Queen of Scots, during her captivity.

Etheldreda (d 679), daughter of Anna, king of East Anglia, restored an old church in Ely and built a monastery on the site where Ely Cathedral now lies. After a restoration in 970, it became England's second richest abbey.
