We went to 3 Best Western Hotels on this particular trip, and this was definitely the worst of the three. For a start, check-in time is 4pm, whereas others were 2pm, so room wasn't ready when we arrived. Parking costs £10 per night extra!! Breakfast OK, but very limited choice compared to the others - not a lot of fruit, no meusli, no cakes, pastries, etc., only basic cereals, cooked, toast and croissants. After day out, found room not made up, so no more tea bags, milk etc. On complaining told they only do room if you request it! Looks like their way of getting over staff shortage. Although hotel looked fairly modern, it had air of lack of care - a fire door was never closed despite 'keep closed' notice on it, handle broken off one of windows, mechanism was totally corroded so couldn't close window properly, letting in draft. Thermostatic radiator valve broken off and lying under radiator, someone had scribbled on small table in room. Staff seemed to have rather offhand attitude. less
