Christmas Eve
Join us for a Cumbrian Crimbo! Once you've settled in to your room join us for a traditional afternoon tea, then join us and your fellow guests for a pre dinner drink in the lounge or bar, before our Christmas Eve meal is served in the restaurant. Afterwards, 'tis the season to be relaxed and entertained - who knows what ‘magic’ we may have on offer for you!

Christmas Day
Our Edwardian Breakfast is served in the restaurant - keep a look out for the merry man himself as he passes by with gifts for good boys and girls of all ages! There will be time to take a stroll around the village, or a dip in the hotel pool or hot tub before our superb Christmas Day Lunch comes complete with all the usual trimmings. After lunch it’s time for the Queen’s speech, or a quick snooze (don’t worry we won’t tell anyone). Remember to guess the weight of the cake too - it's a Salutation seasonal tradition. Later, the hand bell ringers will be making their ever popular visit during our Gala buffet, to make us all feel festive. Then it’s time for you to try your hand at our in house quizzes or traditional board games or just while away the night in Christmassy comfort.

Boxing Day
Celebrate on this merry morning with our 25th Anniversary Breakfast. As well as the usual sumptuous buffet and sizzling cooked breakfast, keep your eyes peeled for a few great favourites from the 80’s! We will of course be celebrating with Bucks Fizz (that’s the drink not the 80’s band) Later, board the bus to Waterhead to join in our ever popular cruise on Lake Windermere where we will add our own little unique twist onboard the traditional Lakes steamer the ‘Tern’. Alternatively why not pick up a walker's pack from reception and explore the highlands or lowlands of Ambleside, or just chill out and watch a film at Zeffirellis Cinema with our compliments. On our return from our cruise there’ll be a light lunch for you to enjoy, with the rest of the afternoon for you to spend at your leisure. After dinner join your fellow guest’s for a fabulous evening of music, dance and cabaret into the small hours.

After you have feasted on our hearty Cumbrian breakfast, our traditional Christmas package sadly ends and it’s time to say goodbye...until next year!

New Year's Eve
We welcome you to our New Year celebrations with a sumptuous Cumbrian afternoon tea served in our luxurious lounges where you can relax in preparation for the party!
Then after you have settled in, it’s time to get your glad rags on - cocktail dresses for the ladies and lounge suit or black tie for the gents. Join us for our Champagne and canapé reception before making your way to our candle-lit restaurant for our lavish gala dinner, where we have pulled out all the stops to make this a night to remember - there'll be music, dancing, cabaret and a visit from the local pipers! At midnight we’ll bring in 2013 with a spectacular firework display and continue the fantastic celebrations way into the wee hours.

New Year’s Day
Traditionally we serve a brunch on New Year’s Day, so you can take it easy - no need to rush. Guests are then free to enjoy the rest of the day at their leisure, perhaps with a dip in the pool or hot tub. Alternatively you can discover the local scenery with a stroll around the lakeshore or fellside. Reception will be happy to give you a ‘Walker's Pack’ complete with a map and other goodies for your adventure. If you wish you can check out the ‘flicks’ and see a film at the fabulous Zefferellis cinema with our compliments. Dinner will then be served in the restaurant with a little light musical entertainment while you eat. Afterwards relax, chill out and enjoy our entertainment, you will have to wait and see what ‘magic’ we bring to the night!
