Wardour Street, Soho, London

London West End

Stay at a West End hotel for Georgian estates, regal parks and masterpieces hanging in palatial galleries and museums.

Historic London West End

Mayfair lives up to its upper-crust reputation with its Palladian estates and townhouses. Promenade on Piccadilly past stately Burlington House, home to the Royal Academy of Arts, or posh Savile Row where dandy Georgian gentlemen were suited and booted. Aristocrat relatives of Princess Di shacked up at Spencer House overlooking Green Park.

Art and museums in the West End

The National Gallery’s treasures, like Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, are worth booking a West End hotel for. The Greek-revival British Museum on Great Russell Street houses Egyptian mummies and Aztec finds. There’s enough 14th-century armour in the Wallace Collection, close to Marylebone hotels, to deck out a whole regiment.

Quirky things to do in the West End

Guests at West End hotels will be enthralled by weird exhibits at Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum on Piccadilly Circus. Curios include a Mini Cooper encrusted with a million crystals and a matchstick Houses of Parliament. Banksy and Tracey Emin limited editions are for sale at Other Criteria, the New Bond Street shop co-founded by Damien Hirst.

Events in London West End

Couture hits the catwalk at Somerset House in the Strand during London Fashion Week in February. See Chinese dragons and acrobats in Trafalgar Square during Chinese New Year celebrations, steps from your Soho hotel.
