Peterhead Scottish Week
For nine days every summer, a packed programme of events provides entertainment galore for all the family during Peterhead's Scottish Week. The highlight is the choosing and crowning of the Buchan Queen and Princesses.
Initially established in 1961 to promote Scottish produce, there were several Scottish Weeks all over the country. Peterhead boasts the last surviving example, now embarking on its sixth decade. In 2012 the Red Arrows are back for a fly-past on 28 July, while also returning are the Bay Swim and Raft Race (26 July).
