Yoga Place

Each and every day East London oasis of calm Yoga Place teaches others to stretch, breathe and sometimes chant. It's a beautiful space and could do wonders for the soul.

Despite the grubby exterior on Bethnal Green Road, Yoga Place is a cunning surprise: a Zen-like oasis of peace, calm and good vibes. Apart from the alluring space to sit and read, the studio space is wonderfully lit and wholly conducive to being yogic. The floor is wooden and the windows large, far from the "gym" style studios of many London yoga centres.

Apart from the usual gamut of lessons to tap into (largely ashtanga or flowing types), there are early morning drop in self-practice sessions (Mysore style) to set you up for the day. Porridge is thrown in for good measure (not all over the studio floor, but with the fee). Watch out for many special interest courses at the weekends.
