National Wildflower Centre

The National Wildflower Centre spreads across Court Hey Park in Knowsley, Liverpool. It has a working garden nursery, a play area for kids and interactive wildflower exhibitions, while the modern building houses a rooftop walkway, café and conservatory.

The centre opened in 2001 and is dedicated to preserving flowers under attack from industry, with an emphasis on creative conservation and reintroducing wildflowers to Britain. Visitors can also learn about the medicinal and therapeutic properties of wildflowers.

Court Hey Park used to belong to the Gladstone family but the estate fell into dereliction before being rescued by Landlife. Now the future is blooming...
