Isle of Wight Garlic Festival

The pungent bulb takes centre stage at the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival, held at Newchurch Showground. Raising money for local charities, there's an entire marquee devoted to garlic cookery demonstrations, garlic-infused foods, music, acrobatics and arts and crafts.

The Garlic Marquee boasts garlic roasted popcorn, garlic ice cream, garlic yogurt, garlic beer, garlic lemonade, garlic fudge...you get the general idea. Some sound natural, others don't. Nonetheless, they must be popular, reappearing at the festival year in, year out. Whether they make you popular is another matter.
