Just to give you an idea of the enormity of this temple dedicated to consumerism and leisure, the Cineworld multiplex cinema seats 3600 and has 16 screens, while the retail space covers an area of 100,000 square feet. Taken as a whole, Xscape covers an area the size of three football pitches and stands 47 metres high. A far cry from your corner shop!

The complex is the proud owner of Europe's largest indoor "real" snow slope. The "Snozone" is 170 metres long and 60 metres wide in total, comprising three snow slopes, one of which is dedicated to lessons. Some 1500 tonnes of snow, produced by snow cannons, are used in this showcase venture - enough to safely allow some 250 skiers and snowboarders onto the slope every hour. Healthland Snozone also operates a fitness centre, comprising state-of-the-art health and fitness facilities, indoor pool, steam room, sauna, childcare facilties and a bar overlooking the action on the slopes.
