Pedal for Scotland
Support Maggie's Cancer Car Centres and other local charities by taking part in the annual Pedal for Scotland charity ride. The classic ride is 51 miles between Glasgow Green in Glasgow and Edinburgh, but 2010 saw the first 94-mile sportive challenge.
The event started in 1999 and now more than 2000 riders take part, all in a very good cause. By 2006 the number of riders had almost doubled, and in 2009 7000 cyclists participated, raising a massive £230,000 for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres, breaking all previous records.
Application forms are available on the Pedal for Scotland website, along with tips for the race and a detailed description of the route across the country between its two main cities.
