Freedom
A music festival with a difference, Hull's Freedom was set up in 2007 to celebrate the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery. The festival features the shining lights of British pop over two days and, best of all, it's all free!
It may be a political approach to pop, but Hull has always been proud of its commitment to freedom. The city's most famous son, William Wilberforce, was a pioneer of the anti-slavery movement and this festival celebrates the city's continued campaign for equality.
