Hotels near the Limetree Festival

For people who moan about festivals not being what they used to be, there's the laid-back Limetree Festival at North Yorkshire's Lime Tree Farm. It features up-and-coming bands, comedy, cabaret, street theatre and a stone circle, minus the corporate feel.

Across three stages, festival-goers in 2010 can catch the blues and soul of Chunky Butt Funky and hip-hop from Cantaloop, as well as funk, soul and jazz from James Taylor Quartet, various DJ sets and quirky performances.

Massages and spiritual healing may be a highlight for some. For others, it'll be the 'non nightclub prices' on drinks. The festival's ethos aims to be as green as the North Yorkshire nature reserve where it takes place, with recycling strongly encouraged and eco-composting toilets.
