The Guildhall

Leicester's 14th-century Guildhall is one of the oldest buildings in the city still in use and one of the best-preserved timber-framed halls in England. Today it serves as a performance venue and a distinctive local landmark.

The Guildhall's 600-year history has seen it used as a meeting place, a library, a courtroom and a police station. Visitors can view the original timber beams, stained glass, murals and a medieval fireplace.
