Hotels near the Guildford Castle
Guildford Castle keep stands proudly (thanks to a £4 million renovation) in its splendid grounds, which are open to the public all year round. Visitors can venture to the top of the keep to enjoy sweeping views of the town.
The castle is thought to have been built shortly after William the Conqueror's invasion of 1066, and was then improved upon by Henry III in the 13th century before falling into disrepair.
Please note: the keep is closed in winter, and has restricted opening hours in March and October - please visit the castle's website for details.
