Glasgow International Jazz Festival

First held in 1987, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival brings swing to the Merchant City area of the city and further afield. It is now one of the major Scottish jazz celebrations, annually attracting an impressive and eclectic line-up of international artists.

The 2012 festival - marking the event's first quarter century - expands to 25 city venues and (including the Fringe) over 50 events. Headliners include the Robert Cray Band, Yolanda Brown, the James Taylor Quartet, Ryan Quigley Big Band's tribute to The Beatles, the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and, on the final night, George Benson.
