Royal Cornwall Museum
Located in the heart of Truro, the Royal Cornwall Museum features permanent displays on the county's history as well as a diverse range of temporary exhibitions.
The ground floor offers a collection of local materials from the Stone Age to the present, while the Rashleigh gallery is home to minerals from around the globe, including the world's largest Liroconite crystal.
The Bonythan gallery is dedicated to the diversity of the region's wildlife and illustrates the activities of birds and animals in their natural habitat. On the first floor there is a range of decorative and applied art, including a selection of ceramics and Greek and Roman artefacts, along with the dedicated Egyptian gallery and its resident mummy.
Changing exhibitions of paintings from the permanent collection, including some from the Newlyn School, are shown in the Phillbrick gallery, while the De Pass gallery occasionally has a selection of the museum's important collection of Old Masters' Drawings.
