Lunt Roman Fort
The Lunt Roman Fort was once inhabited by the Roman Army and now provides a fascinating snapshot of Roman military life.
The Lunt is a partial reconstruction of a fort that was established in that spot in 64AD, following the Boudiccan rebellion. It houses the Museum of Roman Military Life with its archaeological finds, as well as a model of the Roman fort as it appeared in 64AD. Re-enactments of military manoeuvres take place occasionally and are well worth seeing for their pomp and splendour.
