Discovery Surf School provides professional coaching for all ages and levels, with the emphasis on safe, quality tuition in small groups. Learn to surf in safety with a beginner course, improver lesson or develop your surfing skills with an advanced coaching session. Lessons usually take place at Bigbury-on-Sea, a short hop from Totnes.

Beginner lessons are two hours long while beginner courses (2-4 lessons) can be spread over days or weeks so you can get your strength back in between surfing exertions. The school also gives advanced lessons for those who have some confidence in the water and are surfing regularly.

All equipment is supplied with a wide range of surfboards including beginner boards (soft and buoyant), intermediate boards (soft top and mini-mals) and smaller kids' boards. Discovery Surf also supplies an extensive range of summer and winter wetsuits for men, women and kids.

Discovery Surf School is run by Martin Connolly. Martin is a top-rated British surfer and experienced BSA coach and lifeguard. He has worked several seasons on local and Australian beaches and is well qualified to get you riding some big ones!
