Magna

The Magna science and adventure centre was converted from a former steelworks. Visitors can walk on air, feel the heat of a fire tornado, blast water cannons and take the controls of a JCB.

The complex is divided into four indoor pavilions, Earth, Fire, Water and Air along with Sci-Tek and Aqua-Tek, which together form a huge, hi-tech outdoor adventure playground for children.

The Big Melt (at regular intervals throughout the day) is a pyrotechnic display in the old arc furnace that made the steel for which Sheffield became well known. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
