Proms in the Park - Caerphilly

Taking the famous Last Night of the Proms celebrations across the nation, Proms in the Park comes for the first time to Caerphilly. Join the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on Owain Glyndwr Playing Fields beneath Caerphilly Castle.

The format of Proms in the Park provides not only live music, but also a big-screen broadcast of the second half of The Last Night of the Proms beamed direct from London's Royal Albert Hall. There's usually some clever interaction between London, both in the Hall and in the Proms in the Park event in Hyde Park, and the various regional celebrations, but there's definitely a plus factor for being in the park - you get fireworks!

Full details are yet to be announced but there will be a theme of 'magic and wizardry' - not surprisingly with such an iconic backdrop as the 13th-century castle, which was captured twice from the English by Owain Glyndwr (in 1403 and 1405).
