Yorkshire Ebor Festival
The Ebor Festival includes the oldest, richest, fastest and most famous races at York Racecourse, combining sporting excellence and style stakes over four days. The event dates back to the 1840s, and remains hugely popular to this day.
The first day of the festival is one of the most popular in Britain, and includes the richest race of the York year, the Juddmonte International, which is one of the top three contests in the world.
Wednesday's highlight is the Totesport Ebor, first run back in the 1840s. There has always been plenty of excitement circulating this race, and not too long ago a winner that came in at over 100-1!
On the Thursday, there's as much attention off the track as on it, as it's Ladies' Day. This means competition is is just as fraught among the spectators as it is among the jockeys. Things calm down on Friday, when you can sit back and enjoy the racing in a more sedate way.
