Great Dorset Steam Fair
The Great Dorset Steam Fair takes place on 650 acres in Tarrant Hinton and attracts up to 200,000 visitors each year. Attractions include steam engine exhibits, a music festival, heavy Shire horses and even a few white-knuckle rides.
The fair aims to give visitors a nostalgic insight into the English way of life when steam power was in its heyday - in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. Each year a large collection of steam and vintage equipment is assembled.
