Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral is one of the finest in England. Started in 1220, it was completed by 1258, with its famous spire, the tallest in England at 123 metres (404 feet), added a generation later.
The graceful spire rises above the sweeping lawns of the tranquil Cathedral Close. The magnificent building boasts Gothic architecture, one of the four copies of the Magna Carta (1215 AD), a unique 13th-century frieze of bible stories in the Chapter House and Europe's oldest working clock (1386AD), as well as being the chosen setting for Hogwarts in the film version of JK Rowling's Harry Potter stories.
Please note that special events and concerts may affect opening times.
