Cosmeston Lakes Country Park & Medieval Village

Cosmeston Lakes Country Park in Penarth is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species. Cosmeston Medieval Village, within the park, is a unique heritage attraction that takes visitors back to the 14th century.

The reconstructed 14th-century Cosmeston Medieval Village is on its original site and includes medieval buildings, rare breeds and a small museum. Costumed "villagers" provide guided tours and throughout the year there's jousting, medieval combat, archery, crafts and summer festivals.

Cosmeston Lakes Country Park itself consists of landscaped former quarry areas, woodland, grassland and wetlands, a rural retreat just a short bus ride from Cardiff city centre.
