Mid Hants Railway - Watercress Line
The Mid Hants Railway, also known as the Watercress Line, is a preserved steam railway line that runs between Alresford and Alton. Operated by a team of volunteers, the line is open to passengers who want to take a trip back in time.
It's also possible to take a course to learn how to drive the train yourself - there are introductory and advanced courses in which you'll handle the controls of a powerful steam locomotive and haul a full set of coaches.
There are several events organised on the train throughout the year: on the real ale trains you can sample different beers, while the dining train offers a luxurious five-star meal. For more information, please visit the Watercress website.
