Winter Garden

Part of Sheffield's £120-million Heart of the City project and directly connected through Arundel Gate to the Millennium Gallery, Winter Garden is a huge temperate glasshouse and a green oasis in the city centre. People-watch in this jungle-like interior.

The greenhouse is home to more than 2000 plants including Japanese sago palms, Abyssinian banana trees, Australian tree fern, bamboo and screw pine. Measuring 70 metres in length, it is shrouded in tiers of glass, steel and curving wooden beams rising to 21 metres.
