Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary
Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary in the grounds of Glanmor House in Hayle has a fabulous collection of rare and endangered parrots, as well as owls, birds of prey, otters, penguins and a farm full of animals.
During its 25 year history, the sanctuary has kept about 400 species and bred just over 200 species of birds. Populations of many bird species are declining and the sanctuary makes a positive contribution to bird conservation.
Paradise Park has an award winning Parrot Flight - a huge 150ft aviary where birds can pick their own mates and flock in natural conditions. There is also a parrot jungle complete with lush tropical plants, streams and waterfalls. The nearby Australian Aviary is filled with the song of cockatoos and lorikeets.
Other atractions include the Victorian walled garden of Glanmor House, which is filled with sub-tropical plants like palm trees, ferns and bamboos. There is also plenty for children to enjoy including Fort Paradise and the minature railway.
