Keeping things in check

OK, so you want to use our fantastic blog. That’s great, but there are a few little rules and regulations that you need to know about, which will make sure everything runs like clockwork while you’re here. By using the blog (provided by Best Western Hotels GB) you agree to abide by these Terms of Use.

Firstly, your posts should be relevant, and respectful. Best Western will keep a beady eye on things and check posts before they’re published – the folks in charge of our web content will moderate the blog and reserve the right to refuse or remove anything that they think isn’t quite right. As such, it might take a couple of days for your thoughts to appear. As long as your posts follow these few simple guidelines, your comments (positive and negative) will be shown in all their glory every time!

Because we want things to run smoothly, we may post our own thoughts from time to time, in response to individual posts or group discussions.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T!

We don’t expect everyone to agree on everything, but we do want to make our web space every bit as welcoming as our lovely hotels! So, while all views and opinions are accepted (within reason), they need to be expressed in a way that makes sure the Best Western Hotels GB community all get along like a house on fire.

Obscene, racist, prejudiced or bigoted posts therefore won’t be tolerated. Neither will anything that encourages physical violence against any group or individual – it’s not big or clever!

We’ll nip any harassment of a fellow poster in the bud too.

No cheeky nudity, nasty violence or offensive content allowed!

No one likes porkies, so please don’t post information that you know is false or misleading. Also, keep illegal activities, or abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous comments to yourself!

Don’t exploit people in a sexual, violent or other manner. It’s just not cricket!

Criminal activity has no place here, so steer clear of providing instructional information about illegal activities like making weapons or taking over the world… and report it if you see it!

Passwords and personal information are private, so let’s keep them that way!

We love animals and insects, but please don’t bring any worms or Trojan horses with you when you visit!

We’re all for free enterprise too, but to ensure things are kept relevant, we ask that you don’t tout any commercial activities and/or sales without permission in writing.

Private matters.

We’ll do everything we can to protect your privacy. All we ask is that you let us know your first name, surname and email address whenever you post, just so that we can get in touch if your comments aren’t appropriate in any way.

By the same token, it’s up to you to make sure no other personal information finds its way onto the blog – whether it’s yours or anyone else’s.

And just so you know, the temporary cookie that’s used on our blog won’t contain any personal information other then what you provide in your posting.

Copyright

Please do not post things like quotes from films or pages from books. In fact, anything that belongs to another individual is strictly ‘no-go’. We’ll delete anything that may breach someone’s copyright or trademark.
