What better excuse than the festive season to squeeze in a little retail therapy! I love the idea of buying Christmas presents, but generally seem to find a multitude of apt gifts for myself (this is not great for people on my list!).
Why is it that you always find that little something you really can’t live without – like that new mascara that truly does give you the false lash effect – when you should be spending your Christmas pot on your friends and family?
Although the twinkly lights and sparkly window displays really put me in the festive spirit the thought of a packed Meadowhall, Trafford Centre or Bullring makes me run screaming in the opposite direction at Christmas time – and I am usually a girl who classes shopping as a hobby!
I have tried many ways to avoid the crowds and even did a lot of my Christmas shopping online last year, but this just didn’t give me the shopping high that you get from the high street or shopping mall. So this year I will be heading to my chosen destination of York/Meadowhall/Trafford Centre/Bullring (depending on my mood) as soon as the shops open so that when the rugby scrum begins I will be relaxing smugly with a nice hot chocolate and all my Christmas shopping completed!*
*I would like to add that all good intentions may be lost when I can’t drag myself out of my lovely warm bed!
