Sorry for the shameless “Mo” plug!
I was recently asked to get involved in Movember and I really couldn’t turn it down, so once permission was granted from my boss at work and my boss at home I happily agreed to get involved!
There are 3 reasons why I am so keen to get involved:
1) Cancer in all its terrible forms devastates families and lives across the globe and I would like to see (in my lifetime) this disgusting disease wiped from the face of the earth! A lot has been achieved over the years regarding cancer and survival rates have increased dramatically, but more can and should be done.
2) I have lost family members and dear friends to cancer over the years and they are sadly missed by all who had the pleasure in knowing them.
3) I have recently lost a very dear and loved Uncle to prostate cancer aged just 66. To see such a strong, powerful and larger-than-life man reduced to what he was in his final weeks was truly heartbreaking for all involved. Cancer may have won the fight on this occasion but the brave and dignified way that ‘the Silver Fox’ dealt with his illness should give people hope that the war on cancer should be fought and won by us all.
So, can I put my ugly mug forward for a month to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against this horrendous disease?
Too right I can!
So, I will be asking the stubble gods to look favourably on me and grow the best moustache I possibly can in 1 month. I will be blogging as much as I can, I will be raising as much money as I can and (sorry about this) I will be showing off my face to all and sundry who cares to take a look!
Find out more about Movember, the big steps that have been taken to change attitudes to men’s health and the male specific cancers that it supports here.
Oh, I nearly forgot, I will be thinking of as many MO puns and plugs as I possibly can – so bye for now and thanks for reading.
