Let me set the scene. It’s a miserable, dark and cold October morning. You’ve flooded the bathroom having your morning shower, run out of milk for your cereal and dropped your toast butter side down. It seems like the day can only get worse, but there is one saving grace, this particular wet and cold October morning is a Friday morning – wuhoo I hear you cry! The weekend has landed (well almost).
No matter how downright depressing a day can be, the lure of the weekend can really turn that frown upside down. So, with Friday night, Saturday and Sunday fast approaching if you don’t already have bundles of  plans in place you are frantically wracking your brain for things to do and friends/family to do it with. The question is, do you go the whole hog and book a weekend break to London with a trip on the London Eye, a meal in Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant and VIP access to the hottest club with David and Victoria Beckham (ok, I may be pushing it a bit now), or do you search for cheap hotels and visit all of the free attractions nearby?
Whether you choose to go away or stay at home, the pressure to make sure that you make the most of your precious days off can be just as stressful as your working week. But never fear, there are always some great late deals on hotel stays and discount offers on local attractions (just get signed up to the voucher code websites!).
What do you do to make the most of your weekend and where is your favourite place to visit?
