Autum leaves

Why is Autumn so awesome?

Autumn has well and truly arrived and in typically British style the wind, rain and dark nights are here to stay until at least June 2011. Although the disappearance of summer BBQs and lazy days in beer gardens is a little depressing, I do love Autumn activities and the cosy feeling they bring. So, to snap you all out of your SAD states I have had a good think about reasons why Autumn is awesome.

Well, for a start Autumn is officially the time of year that you can put the heating on, snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy some mind numbing TV, or if you are feeling a little more sociable a visit to a local pub/restaurant with an open fire is compulsory (along with a glass of wine of course!).

Release your inner child by kicking leaves in the park. On more adventurous days I like nothing more than making leaf angels (like snow angels but without the snow). If you are going to do this please be careful as you never know what could be lurking under the seemingly lovely leaves!

A personal favourite Autumnal occurrence is that baggy winter clothes mean the bikini diet can be officially ditched. No more celery sticks, Woohoo! Also, while we are on the subject of flashing some flesh the pale and interesting look becomes the new sunkissed – no-one has a tan in Autumn!

If you are still feeling like hibernating from the icy weather then persuade your boyfriend/girlfriend/mates/mother to indulge in a few weekend breaks  – Summer holidays are no more, but UK Autumn mini breaks are here to stay.

If my favourite things about Autumn don’t get you pulling on your slippers and curling up in front of the fire to watch a cheesy DVD then let me know what your favourite things about Autumn are? I might even have time to try a few.
