“Heaven? Floating about with everyone you ever knew for eternity. Me family does me ‘ed in after one day at Christmas. I’d rather be mush.” – KARL PILKINGTON
Manchester legend Karl Pilkington has recently been flown across the world in pursuit of the meaning of life. The often hilarious show “The Moaning of Life” takes Ricky Gervais’ protégée in and amongst some of life’s more meaningful experiences. He witnesses first-hand the importance we place on weddings, births, religion and tradition. However, on his return, a national radio interview saw Karl reveal what he saw as the meaning of life. And for Karl, life was about creating as many good memories as possible.
Though it would be remiss of anyone to claim they see the world in exactly the same way as the unique Mancunian, I can totally see his point on this one. Memories are vital components in the mind. As Oscar Wilde said: “Memory is the diary we all carry about with us.”
And working in the hospitality sector, the notion of memory-making is a very important one. After all, it’s our job to provide the right environment for great memories to be created. We know this isn’t an easy task, but it’s incredibly worthwhile.
Over the next few months we’ll be celebrating ten particularly wonderful memory makers. And this week, to mark the launch of #Happiness_Is we’re celebrating the Best Western Crianlarich Hotel, Scotland.
So what‘s on the happiness menu up there in Crianlarich? Well, located in the Loch Lomond national park and just one hours drive from Glasgow, Stirling, Fort William and Oban, our tradition Scottish hotel is an ideal base from which to get oot and aboot in Scotland. Oh, and if you climb the nearby mountain, and take a photo at the top, you’ll be eligible for a free pint at the hotel bar.
Here are just a few things that have been said recently:
“The staff are incredibly friendly, and, loved our dogs. On entering the hotel there are two stone labradors, and, we brought a real one! Can’t say enough about the restaurant and the incredible food they served there. We’ll definitely be going back.” – Cpldoc, Glasgow.
“Having read recent reviews, my partner and I were looking forward to our weekend stay with our dog in tow. We were not let down with the location; rooms, staff and food were all excellent.” – Mark, Northampton.
Why not check out the Best Western Crianlarich for yourself.
