Gerry at BEST WESTERN Beamish Hall Hotel

Name :  Gerry Whitehouse

Hotel : BEST WESTERN Beamish Hall Hotel, Beamish

Job title : Birds of Prey Manager

Gerry has looked after the birds of prey at BEST WESTERN Beamish Hall Hotel for 2 years. He was born in Birmingham, but has a New Zealand accent! He is a professional animal trainer by trade, and used to train cheetahs in the Serengetti! They have about 65 birds here, with lots of different species. As part of his job, Gerry tours local schools, to encourage children who have an interest in falconry.

Once a 12th century coaching inn, the BEST WESTERN Beamish Hall Hotel is now a 21st century country house hotel, set in 24 acres of wooded parkland. With a microbrewery, a birds of prey centre, a high ropes activity course, a pub dedicated to Bobby Shafto (he of the famous sea shanty), suits of armour, and Beamish Museum on the doorstep, there is plenty to keep you entertained here!
