Opened on World Book Day in March 2005, the Jubilee Library in Brighton sets a green example by running only on renewable energy sources. The Sound and Vision area houses an impressive collection of world cinema and music.

The interior design takes inspiration from cathedral spaces and harks back to the 19th-century Parisian libraries, the Bibliothèque Nationale and the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. The west wall of the exterior is covered with dark blue and green ceramic tiles, which is just one of the pieces of artwork that gives the building its finishing touches.
