Sample Whitstable's fresh oysters or home-smoked trout from Donnington Trout Farm near Upper Swell in the Cotswolds. Stock up in Hampshire's farm shops on pork sausages with garlic, apple and herbs and seek out wild game in the New Forest. Cheese is also on the menu here - try Loosehanger Handmade Cheeses such as the gently smoked Woodfalls Oak or handmade Sussex cheeses such as the well-matured Duddleswell hard. In Kent there are plenty of pick-your-own fruit farms and Farmers' Markets.
