Children won't have to fly to Lapland to meet Father Christmas this year, after it emerged that he also has a base in the Kent countryside.
Lapland UK, described by its proprietors as an exciting and ambitious Christmas experience, is based in Forestry Commission-managed Bedgebury forest, near Cranbrook.
According to its website, the project aims to provide "a traditional visit to the home of Father Christmas, but without the need to fly to Lapland". It even has artificial snow.
Activities available during a typical four-hour visit include writing Christmas letters, decorating gingerbread and working in Father Christmas' toy factory, before meeting the great man himself.
Sadly, all family tickets have sold out for this season, but adults can amuse themselves with a "twilight visit" after 6pm.
Been good all year? Why not reward yourself with a Christmas break in one of Best Western's hotels in Kent?
