Design fans will be hoping to pick up a bargain this weekend at one of the UK’s top showcases for contemporary interiors.
100% Design starts at Earls Court in London on Thursday (20 September), and though the first three days are trade-only, on Sunday the event is open to the public.
This year’s showcase reflects an increased public appetite for eco-friendly products. Among the range of green designs on display will be Fair Trade fabrics and furniture made of cornstarch, hessian and bamboo. On-site catering will be provided by ‘eco-restaurant’ Acorn House, dubbed last year by Giles Coren in the Times as "the most important restaurant to open in London in the past 200 years".
100% design is part of the London Design Festival, which continues until 30 September at venues across the capital.
