Birmingham train services remain disrupted after a freight train hit a wall and derailed four wagons on the approach to Moor Street station yesterday.

According to the BBC, Chiltern services are starting and terminating at Dorridge or Solihull and replacement buses are running between Dorridge/Solihull and Birmingham Snow Hill.

No London Midland trains are currently running between Stourbridge and Dorridge and Stourbridge and Stratford. The incident has caused disruption along a route which includes Banbury, Leamington Spa, Kidderminster and Tyseley and its services are terminating at Spring Road/Acocks Green and Birmingham Snow Hill.

Chiltern Railways passengers are being accepted on Virgin Trains services between London Euston and Birmingham New Street. In addition, Travel West Midlands is accepting London Midlands passengers between Spring Road /Acocks Green and at Birmingham Snow Hill.

Local and national rail services to Birmingham New Street have not been affected by the incident.

Speaking to the BBC, Keith Lumley from Network Rail, said:

"The work that we've got to do is to continue to recover the actual wagons that were derailed.

"That itself is a particularly difficult job. Then there's the ongoing track and viaduct wall repairs that need to be carried out.

"Plus of course there's the investigation into what actually caused the derailment."

Birmingham Mail reported that engineers carried out repairs to the track and bridge throughout the night and that rail operators hope that normal rail services will be resumed on Thursday.
